My Soul Is Tired

My soul is tired
Tired of the words never said
And the ones said but never heard.
My soul is tired
Tired of the wet tears
And the ones never shed.
My soul is tired
Tired of the truth
And the lies
Tired of life
And tired of death.
My soul is tired
Tired of looking into the past
Tired of what I see in the past
Tired of not being past… the past.
My soul is tired
Tired of sleeping but never sleeping
Tired of the dreams that wake me up
And tired of the fights that eat away at me each day
My soul is tired
Tired of being tired.
But I’m afraid if my soul sleeps
It won’t ever wake up.
